India’s Current Engagement of FTAs and PTAs

Joint Study Group (JSG) with Mauritius for Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA)

India and Mauritius have agreed for a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement.

Mauritius is very keen on a FTA with India, however India has its concerns due to the fact that Mauritius is becoming a centre for re-export of goods from other countries to India. This PTA is under consideration after complying with all the Rules of Origin norms.

Not much progress ahs been made in the negotiations yet, although the framework of the agreement is more or less discussed
