 Union Budget

  • Special Purpose Tea Fund to rejuvenate tea production has been established
  • National Agricultural Insurance Scheme will be continued current year

Kerala state Budget

  • Special package for paddy production with outlay of Rs45 crore in 2007-08
  • Special schemes for plantation crops like coconut
  • Rs 765 crore Central agricultural package for Wayanad, Palakkad and Kasaragod Districts.
  • Schemes for enhancement of the quality of cross bred cattle at a cost of Rs  6  crore
  • scheme to bring down the age of puberty and to reduce the duration between two conceptions at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore.
  • Schemes for the promotion of commercial dairy farms and milk sheds.
  • Schemes to increase egg production
  • Schemes for coastal area development for the development of ports, with 50 % Central assistance
  • Reorganisation of coirfed and the handloom sector
