Group/personal accident insurances

Group Insurance for fishermen

All registered fisherman of the State between the age group of 18 and 70 years are brought under this scheme.  This scheme is implemented by the Kerala Fishermen’s Welfare Fund Board (KFWFB). A sum of Rs. 1,00,000 is given for accident death, missing, permanent total disability and Rs.50,000 n for permanent partial disabilities. 

Group Accident Insurance Scheme for fishermen

Financial assistance under the scheme is Rs 1,00,000 for death and permanent total disability due to accident or unexpected causes and Rs 50,000/- for partial disability. Insurance Coverage includes medi-claim of maximum Rs 2,000/- subject to hospitalization for 2 hours. This scheme is implemented by the Kerala Fishermen’s Welfare Fund Board (KFWFB).

Fishermen Personal Accident Insurance scheme

Kerala State Cooperative Federation For Fisheries Development Limited (MATSYAFED) implements the Personal Accident Insurance scheme for the fishermen members of the affiliated primary co-operatives in collaboration with Insurance Companies by collecting a nominal insurance premium. The scheme provides a compensation of Rs. One and a half lakhs to the dependants of fishermen who have suffered permanent disability, loss of both limbs/eyes etc.

Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme for Coir Workers

Coir workers aged 14 years and above engaged in the industry are covered under the insurance scheme.  Rs.50,000 for accidental death and permanent total disability and Rs.25,000 for loss of permanent partial disability will be paid as compensation.  The scheme is implemented with the collaboration of the Oriental Insurance Company.
