Subsidy Linked Schemes

Small Cardamom

Rain Water Harvesting Devices in Cardamom and Vanilla Plantations (Description / Working Procedure)          

  • To popularise the cheap method of harvesting rain water for irrigation purpose in the Cardamom and Vanilla plantations
  • Eligible groups are registered small and marginal growers of Cardamom and growers of Vanilla holding not more than 4 ha and not less than 0.10 ha under Cardamom or Vanilla

Departmental Nursery Scheme

  • Seedlings produced in the nurseries are supplied to the growers on a ‘no profit no loss’ basis
Certified Nursery Scheme
  • To support growers for raising cardamom nurseries in their own fields
Cardamom Replanting Scheme
  • To encourage small and marginal growers to take up replantation of old, senile and uneconomic plantations
  • A subsidy of Rs.9,000/- per ha is offered to small and marginal growers
Irrigation & Land Development Scheme
  • To develop water resources such as farm ponds, check dams, weirs and open wells in cardamom plantations
  • It also covers installation of irrigation equipments, soil & water conservation works and afforestation programme
  • Eligibility and scale of assistance varies among States

Vanilla

New Planting

  • Planting material would be provided at 50% of the cost to small farmers
Vanilla Curing Units
  • To maximize the revenue to the growers, Board promotes on-farm curing of vanilla beans
  • Board offers 25% of the cost of curing units subject to a maximum of Rs.2,500/- per unit 
Post Harvest Improvement of Spices

        
Scheme for Improved Cardamom Curing Devices for Small Cardamom (Description/ Working Procedure)

  • To popularise the cardamom drying systems using LPG/ Diesel as fuel among the small growers
  • Growers are provided by 33.3 % of the actual cost of drier as subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs. 1.00 lakh.
  • Eligible group are registered small cardamom growers owning a minimum of area of 0.40 ha and maximum area of 4 ha
Drying Yards
  • Board offers 25% of the cost of construction of drying yards subject to a maximum of Rs.125/- per sq.m for general category of growers and 50% subject to a maximum of Rs.250/- per sq.m for growers belong to Scheduled Caste and 90% of the cost subject to a maximum of Rs.450/- per sq.m for Scheduled Tribe growers
Polythene Sheets
  • To enable small and marginal farmers to dry spices under hygienic conditions
  • Board supplies polythene sheets (of size 8 x 6 mtrs. 250 gsm. 5 layered) at 50% subsidy to tribal growers and 33% to other growers
