ANIMAL HUSBANDRY INFORMATIONPriceMeat and Meat Product Price ComparisonAs can be seen from the table below, the average price of livestock products in Kerala has shown an upward trend since 2001-02. Beef (62%) mutton (39%) and Desi Chicken (30%) recorded higher price rise during past 6 years. At the same time, broiler chicken (9%) showed least price rise during this period. The table below gives the price fluctuation for feed and feed ingredients supporting the livestock sector in Kerala. Although, there was a slight decline in feed (straw and grass) prices from 2000-01 to 2003-04, the prices increased during 2006-07. Average price for feed and feed ingredients in Kerala, in Rs.

The prices of food ingredients also reflected the same pattern of rise between 2000-01 and 2006-07.
