Coconut Development Board

The Coconut Development Board, established in 1981 has a mandate for integrated development of coconut industry in the country through promoting production, processing, marketing and product diversification of coconut.

Coir Board

Coir Board is a statutory body established by the Government of India under a legislation enacted by the Parliament namely Coir Industry Act 1953 (45 of 1953) for the promotion and development of Coir Industry in India as a whole.

Central Institute of Coir Technology

CICT is a research institute of  coir board an autonomous body  under the control of ministry of Agro and Rural Industry , Govt. of India. It was established in 1979 and is located at Bangalore.

CCRI is the prime research centre of coir board and implements all the science and technology programmes for the development  of coir industry  and is located at Kalavoor, Kerala.

KERAFED

KERAFED is the Apex Co-operative Federation of coconut farmers under Government of Kerala and is the largest producer of coconut oil in India.

Kerala Agricultural University

KAU is the primary and the principal instrumentality of the Kerala State in providing human resources, and skills and technology, required for the sustainable development of its agriculture, defined broadly encompassing all production activities based on land and water, including crop production (agriculture), animal husbandry, forestry and fishery through conducting, interfacing and integrating education, research and extension in these spheres of economic endeavour.

Central Plantation Crop Research Institute

The Central Plantation Crop Research Institute (CPCRI), one of the oldest institutes (established in 1916), was taken over by ICAR in 1970. Presently the mandate crops of CPCRI are coconut, arecanut and cocoa. The largest germplasm collections in the world are available on coconut, arecanut and cocoa in the Institute. The establishment of World Coconut Germplasm Centre, International Coconut Gene Bank for South Asia, release of coconut hybrids and dwarf cultivars for tender nut purpose is the most significant achievement. The coconut based cropping systems involving companion annual/perennial crops and mixed  farming models developed by the Institute are acclaimed by the farmers due to economic benefits. The most useful technologies developed on water and nutrient management, identification of drought tolerant genotypes, integrated pest and disease management are popular among the growers.

Kerala Toddy Workers' Welfare Fund Board, Thiruvananthapuram

Under this board a welfare scheme is in operation for the toddy tappers. Under this workers who have not less than 10 years membership/ retired before/ after the commencement of scheme/ superannuation/ permanent illness. Assistance to disabled workers due to fall from the tree.
