Spices Board is responsible for the overall development of cardamom. For improving production and productivity of cardamom, both small and large, Board has formulated and is implementing various developmental programmes. The Board also supports programmes aimed at better post harvest practices. The developmental activities are carried out through six regional offices, 13 zonal offices and 31 field units. Spices Board maintains seven departmental nurseries in the major cardamom growing areas to cater to the needs of cardamom growers. Spices Board also encourages farmers to adopt organic farming.
