Indian scenario

•  Exports constitute only a small fraction of the production. It was hovering around 6% during the last three years, in contrast to approximately 15% in 2000-01

•  India's exports to SAARC countries is negligible. However ASEAN accounts for around 5 – 6 % of the exports.

•  Export of value-added products from cardamom like cardamom oil and cardamom oleoresins are increasingly to exportedGermany, Netherlands and UK.
